A few years ago [2013] I was working part-time at a retail store and saw a need. I experienced the operations of a retail store firsthand from the register, to the sales floor, to the warehouse and logistical I/O and recognized some missed, or at least untapped opportunities.

This was my solution: an exploratory concept to integrate all of the systems a retail store uses, into a singular, cohesive UX. The benefits: ROI in synchronizing lost revenue between brick and mortar and online sales, better customer service, enhanced shopping experiences with awesome visual display posibilities and increased communication between fellow employees and customers.

With IoT only a thought a few years ago, I was already beginning to recognize where technologies like bluetooth beacons, hotspots, LED lights [ala Philips Hue], targeted ads and AR might take a retail experience.

Top: Store map color coded and mapped out using bluetooth beacons. All handheld devices visualized to track where employees are and where they are needed.

Bottom: Selecting a unit allows numerous options to interact.
